This specialized product design studio was managed by one of the LIQUIFER principals. The students participating in this studio generated innovative design concepts for space suits for Mars exploration. This studio was an extension of a similar design effort being pursued at the University of California, Berkeley. As part of the studio, the students also made field trips to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Global Effects – a Hollywood company that creates space suits for Hollywood films and also created a Mars space suit prototype for NASA. The outcome of the studio was exhibited at the Space Design Exhibition hosted at the Zurich Museum of Design.
