This specialized product design studio was managed by LIQUIFER partner Susmita Mohanty. The students participating in this studio generated product design concepts for the Wireless Augmented Reality Prototype (WARP) for NASA astronauts. The project was carried out in collaboration with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) -- one of the lead centers managing the WARP Project.

The WARP will provide a wearable wireless multipurpose personal communications and information system for space station and shuttle astronauts. It comprises of two main parts (1) a heads-up display and (2) a pod – together they will provide the astronaut with a real time audio-video-data system. It will have a wide range of applications including, amongst others, accessing experiment procedures, performing complex docking procedures, browsing the Internet, monitoring biological data of the user, and viewing films.

Here is an overview of the concepts that were generated by the students participating in the studio.
